The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the way we work and live the past few weeks. Sadly thousands of people have passed away and millions of others have lost their jobs. It’s overwhelming to think about the hardships and challenges we all face right now.

I’ve thought a lot about business during this time and how many of us will have to adapt to survive. With such uncertainty, it can feel like the best thing to do is place everything on hold. Yet I also believe we have so much opportunity to launch a business during coronavirus. What we do today and greatly shape our future.

Launching a business during coronavirus helps you.

The business landscape has already been changing the past decade and more people are joining the gig economy than ever before. Job security is a thing of the past and people want greater flexibility in life. As bad as the Covid-19 pandemic is, it’s a perfect time for you to start a business.

Why you should launch a business now.

Many of us have “nothing better to do” than binge watch Love is Blind or Tiger King. While we do need time to escape reality, watching TV can be complete waste of life. Not judging, just being honest. Imagine if we used that time to invest in ourselves and future instead.

1. You will have something to look forward to.

Just as it’s beneficial for us to enjoy the mental breaks we also must keep our minds sharp or busy during challenging times. We need to have a sense of purpose to survive. Starting a business can provide that purpose, especially if you have a powerful “why” behind your business idea.

2. You can become self-sustaining.

The economy has and always will fluctuate on circumstances beyond our control. Jobs are not guaranteed and you could always find yourself unemployed, regardless of what company you work for. Not being able to provide for yourself or your family is a scary place to be. And while there is no guarantee for success in your business, wouldn’t you rather bet on yourself?

3. You can captivate an audience unlike any other time.

As already stated, many of us are trying to find activities to occupy our time while being under shelter in place restrictions. People are searching the web and social media. They have time to connect with your brand or message. Why not use this to your advantage instead of waiting until later when life is back to normal?

Launching a business during coronavirus could help others.

Depending on what you offer through your new business, you might be able to provide valuable services or products that benefit other people.

Whether it’s creating websites for start-ups, offering online courses or developing masks for virus protection, there is something you can do to make the world a better place through your work. People still need services or products that provide a solution to their needs.

Finally, your new business venture might help jump start the economy once this coronavirus pandemic is over. Small businesses are the life-blood of our country.
